Did you guys see Lane and High? Being a somewhat ole timer the old bike shop, Gyro chef and the Thirsty I is gone. Leveled. It's weird to see the old stomping ground changing. I used to drink illegaly at the Thirsty I and make gyros for the greeks. Anyone remember those haunts?

Fri, February 13, 2004 - 7:07 AMOh yeah. I think that bar had had about a 20 names/owners since I moved to Columbus in 1990. Jousters, Quarters, Alcatraz... A whole bunch of others I can't remember. I miss a bunch of the stuff from when I first moved here... Staches, Crazy Momma's, The Drexel North, The Columbus Chill. Remember when it was free to see bands at Bernies?
For about a year and a half in the late 90s I had a comic/record shop just three doors up from there on High. -

Fri, February 13, 2004 - 7:13 AMIn the 80's when Bernies was free there was a record shop called Moles on the second floor. People used to think I worked there I was there so much. And dancing at mustards was a blast. I used to hang with Fred Zaner aka Damon Zex. Boy was I young and dumb. -

He had the wildest hair and wouldn't groom for days and days. Used to go to Buckeye Donuts and scare the homeless. They thought he was an alien! -

Thu, January 20, 2005 - 12:14 PMI was married to the owner of the Drexel theatres daughter. I just missed the Drexel North, but Erin(their daughter, and my ex-wife) said that it was the best theatre in Columbus. The Drexel Grandview, and East are both OK though.

But they have a nice Bar upstairs, good saketinis, and a decent selection of japanese beer. plus i forget what nights it is but Jinx and a couple guests usually spin a decent house set up there. Its not half bad- a little somethin for everyone i suppose. -
